Packing seals

The wash pipe packing seal is a sealing component used in the rotating joint or wash pipe section of oil drilling equipment. Its main function is to prevent high-pressure fluid leakage during rotation or axial movement, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the drilling system.

Made from high-strength, wear-resistant materials such as graphite, PTFE, and aramid, this seal offers excellent self-lubrication, compression resistance, and sealing performance. It is ideal for high-pressure, high-speed, and high-frequency operations.

 Working Principle

The packing is installed inside the stuffing box around the wash pipe or shaft. When compressed axially by the gland, it deforms radially to tightly fit the surface of the wash pipe, forming a reliable seal.

During the rotation or reciprocation of the wash pipe, the packing maintains controlled contact and friction with the surface. Its flexible and lubricating properties reduce wear, extend service life, and prevent fluid leakage.
